Application Process
C+CBSF’s Board of Directors appreciates the great responsibility of stewarding our donors’ generosity throughout the scholarship application and allocation process. Learn more about the application process and how our Scholarship Committee awards financial assistance to open the cabin door for campers.
The process
Currently, most of our applicants find camp first. When a family wants to provide the experience of summer camp and needs financial assistance, C+CBSF scholarships can offer support. The process begins by working with the camp director at the program the child hopes to attend to complete a scholarship application. Applications include personal financial statements (reviewed and summarized by a third party), character references, parent and camper questionnaires, in addition to the camp director’s recommendation, among other information. Completed applications are reviewed by the C+CBSF Scholarship Committee. Based on the funds available, the committee makes award decisions based on both quantitative and qualitative information using a standardized rubric. Once award amounts are determined, a summary (without personal identifying information) is presented to the C+CBSF Board of Directors. Following the Board’s approval, this information is shared with camp directors who then notify award recipients and arrange camp enrollment.
The Timeline
The deadline for applications is February 1st, with decisions shared as quickly as possible. This date may be adjusted year-to-year. Please communicate with the camp director to assure you are adhering to the current application schedule.
If your family or a family you know is interested in applying for a C+CBSF scholarship, reach out to the appropriate summer camp program (see below) and indicate your interest in financial assistance.
